Celebrity Makeup Artist AJ Crimson Dies

The beauty mogul founded his own brand AJ Crimson Beauty in 2012.

Beauty Mogul and celebrity makeup artist AJ Crimson has died at the age of 27.
 
The self-taught artist, who worked with the likes of Missy Elliott, Hilary Duff, Regina King and more, launched his own makeup brand AJ Crimson Beauty in 2012. Products from his brand were used on the sets of hit shows like Scandal and American Horror Story as well as movies such as The Hunger Games.
 
Crimson’s family shared a statement with ET on Thursday:
 
“AJ Crimson was a makeup industry leader that set a standard of beauty that was elevated, beautiful, and accessible to people of all color,” the family shared. “We as a family are heartbroken and devastated by his passing, but thankful for the lessons that he laid on each of us with his truth, directness, and leadership.”
 
A cause of death for Crimson has not yet been revealed.
